Marvel Unveils Ultimate Endgame And The Conclusion Of Ultimate Spider-Man

Marvel’s reimagined Ultimate Universe continues to push the boundaries of storytelling, and at San Diego Comic Con, fans were treated to major revelations during the Marvel Comics: Ultimate Universe Panel. With the line already redefining iconic characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Avengers, and the X-Men, the panel promised big changes and it delivered.

The event featured a powerhouse lineup of creators, including Ultimate Spider-Man writer Jonathan Hickman, Marvel Comics Editor in Chief C B Cebulski, Ultimate Editor Wil Moss, Ultimates writer Deniz Camp, and Ultimate Wolverinewriter Chris Condon. Together, they offered fans exclusive previews, a sneak peek at the future of the line, and two game-changing announcements.

First, Hickman confirmed that his and Marco Checchetto’s critically acclaimed run on Ultimate Spider-Man will come to a close with issue number twenty four. The final chapter of Peter Parker’s generational saga promises emotional revelations and dramatic consequences for the entire Parker family Peter, Mary Jane, Richard, May, and Uncle Ben as well as key players like Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy.

“This was everything that I pitched,” Hickman said during the panel. “Nothing has deviated. It’s been really nice to execute the plan well and everything culminates into this issue. Fans of the Ultimate Universe are going to love it. It’s been a real pleasure being the writer of Ultimate Spider-Man.”

The second big announcement was the official reveal of Ultimate Endgame, a five-part crossover event launching in December. Written by Deniz Camp with art by Jonas Scharf and others, Ultimate Endgame brings together characters from all five titles in the Ultimate Universe for the first time. At the heart of the event is the long-awaited return of the Maker, imprisoned both in real time and in-universe for the past two years. Now, he’s ready to challenge the heroes who have dared to build a better world in his absence.

“This is the craziest and most impactful crossover I’ve worked on,” said Camp. “It’s all the characters coming together in a big way, and the resolution of some long plot threads we’ve all been seeing. It’s very big, very dramatic, and with the Ultimate Universe, we can change the world. Marvel has given us this incredible playground and encouraged us to go big. This is the culmination of everything we’ve been building.”

Hickman echoed those sentiments, praising the line’s tight storytelling and the fan support that made it all possible. “The execution from the company on this has been great. You guys supporting this book is the only reason we can tell stories this way,” he said.
