The undead are clawing their way back into the Marvel Universe this fall, only this time, there’s no holding back. Announced last week at Fangoria, Marvel Comics has revealed Marvel Zombies: Red Band, a bold and brutally bloody reimagining of its iconic horror franchise. The five issue limited series debuts this September, promising a no holds barred plunge into a zombified Marvel Universe.
Helmed by writing duo Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan, who make their Marvel Comics debut in Bring on the Bad Guys: Green Goblin #1, and illustrated by acclaimed Stormbreaker artist Jan Bazaldua, Red Band is set to push the horror genre to its limits. The series comes with a Parental Advisory warning and will be polybagged to alert readers of its extreme content.
“Writing Marvel Zombies: Red Band is nothing short of a dream come true,” said Parker. “We’re lifelong fans of both Marvel’s rich history and the bloodsoaked horror genre. This series lets us combine both in the most chaotic and exciting way.”
Sheridan added, “We’re like mad scientists on this project. We’re blending iconic Marvel events with absolutely grotesque horror. This is our love letter to the Marvel Universe… written in blood.”

Marvel Zombies: Red Band rewinds the Marvel timeline to its very origins—specifically, the fateful space voyage of the Fantastic Four. But this time, when the First Family returns to Earth, it’s not powers they bring with them… it’s an insatiable hunger. From there, the series spirals into a terrifying alternate history, with zombies ripping through key events like Secret Wars and more.
