Marvel’s 10 Big Announcements In Hall H | SDCC 19

Folks we have a Disney theatrical slate update from yesterday, and we're breaking it down, this is the Marvel Edition.

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. We all knew something big would happen with Kevin Feige taking the main stage in Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. There are a lot of moving parts to this so lets get started. Marvel Studios has announced 10 projects coming to the big screen and the Disney + streaming platform.

The Eternals-

We all knew this one was coming. Now we know when its coming and who will be in it. The Eternals will be hitting the big screen on November 6th, 2020 with the following cast.

Angelina Jolie – Thena

Salma Hayek – Alax

Richard Madde – Ikaris

Kumail Nanjiani – Kingo

Bryan Tyree Henry – Phastos

Lia McHugh- Sprite

Don Lee – Gilgamesh

Lauren Ridloff – Makkari

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier-

This is of course the Disney+ series that was announced some time ago. It will see Sebastian Shaw and Anthony Mackie return as the Winter Soldier and Falcon respectfully. Mackie has mentioned he has already been fitted for a Captain America suit and the logo for the show has the shield in it. It is set for a fall 2020 release on the streaming service.

Shang-Chi And The Legend of the Ten Rings-

This will be the first Asian superhero for the MCU and Simu Liu will play the title character. The film will introduce us to the REAL Mandarin hinted at in the Marvel One Shot Hail to the King. This movie will hit Feburary 12, 2021.

WandaVision-

This Disney+ series will star Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Wanda and Vision respectively. It will take place after Avengers: Endgame and will also feature Tiana Paris as Monica Rambeau. Rambeau was the little girl in Captain Marvel. She grows up to be the hero, Spectrum. No one is certain how this takes place after Endgame with Vision’s death in Infinity War, but Wanda’s ability to warp reality may come into play. The show hits in the spring of 2021.

Loki-

This show will hit in spring of 2021 as well. It will feature the Loki that escapes the Battle of NY in Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston will be returning to this role. A big deal was made about how this version of Loki has not had all of the adventures the prime MCU timeline Loki did.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness-

This movie will see Benedict Cumberbatch return as the title character. The director, Scott Derrickson states this will be a “scary MCU film.” In addition to Strange, the Scarlet Witch herself will be in this film as well. Her show will tie into the events of this film.

What If…? –

An animated What If…? is coming to Disney+ in the Summer of 2021. It features nearly two dozen voices from the MCU and will give us a look at things if they happened differently. It will be narrated by Jeffrey Wright as Uatu the Watcher.

Hawkeye-

Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, on Disney’s upcoming streaming service that launches later this year. Hawkeye comes to Disney+ in the fall of 2021. 

Thor: Love and Thunder-

Natalie Portman is set to take up the mantle of Thor in the upcoming fourth installment ot the franchise. Taika Waititi, who helmed the fantastic Thor: Ragnarok returns to direct the film. Thor: Love and Thunder rumbles theaters November 5, 2021.

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow finally gets her solo film. Cate Shortland will direct. Black Widow hits theaters May 1, 2020.

Blade –

Marvel’s famed vampire hunter, Blade, returns and will be played by Mahershala Ali (House of Cards). Not much information was released other than the casting. The role was previously made famous by Wesley Snipes.
