Marvel’s Avengers Game To Feature Classic Comic Book Skins For Characters | SDCC 2019

When Crystal Dynamics first revealed footage of their new Marvel’s Avengers game a month or so back, the look of the character models and the costumes they were wearing were met with little enthusiasm by fans.

However, in attendance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the developers have revealed that alternate skins will be available for characters within the game. The only skins revealed thus far are a Viking skin for Thor, the classic Captain America scales costume from the comics, another Iron Man suit, and a Joe Fixit skin for Hulk, suit included.

No other skins were revealed, but it is expected that each character will have multiple different skins that can be acquired in the game to personalise your own characters. This will perhaps alleviate some concerns fans had about the character looks, though Crystal Dynamics have said they will be working on the visuals right up till release in May 2020. From those who were in attendance I have heard that the visual look was already improved from what we saw at this year’s E3, and with plenty of time till the games release, there is no reason this game cannot be as good as we all hoped it would be.

And I do hope this game lives up to some of my expectations because the idea of a GAAS game about the Avengers that I can play with my buddies ticks all the boxes for this gamer. Of course, the gameplay and the endgame are so important in games like these, that I won’t count my chickens before they’ve hatched. The recent Anthem game has proved that no matter how good a game looks from the outside, if the basics don’t work properly the game will drop players by the bucket load who go and find their loot fix elsewhere.

Let’s hope that between now and May 2020 we get to see a lot more gameplay footage and a lot more customisation options like character skins. We don’t expect any more game details to be revealed at this year’s Comic-Con, so who knows when we will get more info on this huge upcoming game.

What do you think of the skins revealed thus far and what skins would you like to see brought in for the main characters in this game? Share your thoughts in the usual spot below as always.
