Marvel’s Loki Series Reportedly To Begin Production Earlier Than Expected

So far we have several Disney+ MCU shows in development. Falcon and The Winter Soldier is filming now, WandaVision is about to start, or started already, and Hawkeye is either delayed or beginning soon depending on what source you believe. After that we expected Loki to be next on the track and followed by the likes of Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

Well according to scooper Charles Murphy over at Murphy’s Multiverse, Loki is to be moved up, and should begin filming on January 20th. It was originally set for some time in February, and whilst this is not much of a move, it could possibly indicate the reports of Hawkeye being delayed are accurate. It was Murphy himself who said Hawkeye had been indefinitely delayed, though after his initial report other scoopers refuted his claims. I guess we will have to wait and see on that one. As for Loki, it looks like the show is moving ahead at full steam, and of course, will once again star Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief.

Hiddleston will be joined by Sophia Di Martino in an unknown role, though many fans are predicting Enchantress just purely on her similarity to the comic book version of that character. Loki will film in Atlanta like most MCU productions and is set to hit screens in spring 2021. Although the MCU version of Loki is very much dead, thanks to the Avengers time meddling, an earlier version of Loki escaped with the tesseract in Avengers: Endgame and it is this version of Loki armed with the power of the space stone, that will be off having various adventures in time and space.

We know from early concept art that Loki will at least spend some time in the ’70s of Earth, and possibly other periods also. The concept art showed Loki in Times Square with a billboard showing Jaws playing in theaters which places it in 1975. Things could change, but going by previous comments from Marvel it does appear as though Loki will be visiting the past of Earth in this show.

“There’s a huge time travel component,” Loki executive producer Stephen Broussard said in the Disney+ special Expanding the Universe. “There will be a man on the run quality to it and we get the chance to explore more human sides of Loki.”

Whether Loki will have any control of where he goes within time, or he will be trapped in the past somewhere is still very open to speculation. So don’t dawdle and get to speculating in the usual spot below.
