Marvel’s Obi-Wan comic arrives this May. However I’m more concerned whether it’s joined by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+? The post below from Star Wars gives a link to a few more details. For a long time fans, insiders, podcasters, and more have been debating when Obi-Wan Kenobi will drop. Here at LRM, we’ve always been thinking May. That’s not any insider information, just the team reasoning things out.
However we also know there is very little chance of Obi-Wan Kenobi dropping on May 4th. That’s because we have heard through the Barside Buzz that Moon Knight will not have any double episodes. That means Moon Knight will still be on air come May 4th this year. What about Star Wars Celebration? Celebration takes place May 26th -29th and my guess is that is a far more likely date for when we might see Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s premiere happen on the Wednesday prior, which is the 25th. Hey, it’s a guess only, so I could be way out here.
There is another reason to think Obi-Wan Kenobi is coming in May. A Disney employee tweeted and then deleted the following yesterday. This was from @Brandalorian.
“Our very own Obi-Wan wi be saying “hello there,” on Disney+… May 2022″
The spelling mistake I kept in for authenticity, I’m sure his L key must just be stuck. As said this post was then deleted and we know this person is involved in Disney+ marketing. So….Did they see the notification for Marvel’s Obi-Wan and make an assumption and posted the wrong thing? Did he really mean the comic, in which case why say Disney+? Oh and finally, why release this obvious companion comic book in May if it’s not to tie in with the show?
