Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Footage Reveals Venom Possibly Kraven

Spider-Man

All of a sudden 2023 seems so far away. This is because everyone’s favorite neighborhood Spider-Man will be returning then in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for Playstation 5. Today during the PlayStation Showcase Event they dropped a new short trailer for the game. Before we get any more into it, let’s check it out!

As you can see the trailer showcases Spider-Man and Miles Morales fighting together. The footage captured via a PS5 looked fantastic. Everyone and their mothers are assuming the voice of the narrator is none other than Kraven the Hunter. A classic Spider-Man villain that fans have been clamoring for.

But the big reveal comes in the end with an amazing-looking Venom. Does that voice sound familiar? Fans of classic horror films (and a recent one) might recognize the voice of Venom played by the actor Tony Todd. He is very well known for his portrayal of Candyman in the 90s. He also just made a camo in Nia Dacosta’s Candyman.

Fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man will be happy to hear that a lot of the development team that worked on that first game are returning to work on the sequel. Via the Playstation Blog Insomniac Games’ Ryan Schneider revealed this news as well as other interesting tidbits about what we can expect.

Much of the development team that brought you Marvel’s Spider-Man is returning to produce Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including Bryan Intihar (creative director) and Ryan Smith (game director). Today’s game footage trailer is merely just a glimpse at what’s in store in terms of the new abilities our heroes will acquire, suits they will wear (more on that some other time), and the villains that will try to hunt them down.

And speaking of villains, did you catch that final line at the end of the trailer? We’re so happy to announce that Tony Todd (of Candyman fame) will be voicing the symbiote-fueled Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We’re also delighted to welcome back Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter, who will reprise their roles as Peter and Miles respectively. We’ve been fortunate to work with so many incredibly talented actors in our Spider-Man games, and Tony has been such a wonderful addition to the cast.

What do you think of the first look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? Let us know in the comments.
