Matt Reeves Reveals Barry Keoghan’s Joker In A Chilling Deleted Scene

Joker

I had speculated that we wouldn’t be getting to see the mysterious deleted scene from The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson’s Batman and Barry Keoghan’s Joker until it was closer to the at-home release. It would make sense to hold to create new buzz for its release. But I was wrong as Matt Reeves via The Riddler’s rataalada.com revealed the highly anticipated scene. With it going viral, we can now share that with you below! Check it out.

In the scene above from The Batman, we are slowly introduced to the Joker. Someone who has had what seems to be his whole body mutilated by something. It’s a very dark take on the character that looks to fit right into the world that Reeves has created. It is obvious that Batman and Joker already have a relationship. The way they freely speak to each other suggests that they know each other fairly well. Batman is there to try and get some insight on who the Riddler is and why he is sending him messages.

We have seen in The Batman, how brutal, Batman can be with his enemies, beating them viciously. In my opinion, I think Batman is the cause of the Joker’s current physical state. As we saw him almost kill someone when he took that adrenaline shot, it wouldn’t surprise me if he had a similar situation with Joker. But what is different is that he probably by accident, or on purpose dropped him in acid. It would be a very classic take on the Joker origin story. This setting up an epic encounter in a future film.

Being that it has been said that Joker is also early in his criminal career, Reeves could be setting us up to witness Joker carrying out a criminal act so horrendous that it would mark the moment that Batman finally recognizes him as the lethal danger that he is known for. It will be interesting to see if he becomes a focal point for Reeve’s story or if he will remain in the background, teasing us all but still allowing some of the other villains to shine.
