Godzilla Vs. Kong is already out, or soon to be out depending on where you live in the World. It’s become pretty clear that Legendary who made the movie has no interest in keeping Mechagodzilla quiet. Any keen eyed fans likely spotted the monster within the first trailer, or even more shots in further trailers. Not to mention the fact LRM spoke to Godzilla Vs. Kong writer Max Borenstein and he was quite up front about his excitement for Mechagodzilla.
Now Legendary Pictures themselves has shared some merchandise of Mechagodzilla from the movie. The social media post below shows some Amazon sourced images of clothing with Mechagodzilla on it.
It’s almost Fight Night and the #GodzillaVsKong premiere exclusive merchandise is here! Get these new designs only for a limited time at this link: https://t.co/Ul6Huak1jf pic.twitter.com/isR2me7RMP

Some fans have been bemoaning the studio about spoiling this reveal in the film. Thing is, I don’t think for one moment Legendary Pictures ever considered Mechagodzilla a surprise reveal. For previous movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the various antagonistic Kaiju were promoted way up front. I think here, it’s the fact that Mechagodzilla wasn’t revealed quite as quickly this time around. Therefore, when that first trailer hit, fans felt like they were spotted clues rather than a marketing push. However, with the cat firmly out of the bag, what not push Mechagodzilla as a selling point?

If you want to know what Borenstein said about Mechagodzilla when he spoke to LRM, check out the related section above. However, without having seen the film, before Borenstein spoke to us even, I guessed what this film would be. Godzilla will fight Kong for the wrong reasons, none of them will back down, but then they’ll team up to defeat a bigger threat and let each other be. Surely the only alternative was to kill one of them off, and that would make little sense financially for the Monsterverse. I never expected any more from a movie called Godzilla Vs. Kong anyway to be honest.
What do you think about this as Mechagodzilla revealed by the studio themselves? As always leave any thoughts below.
