Michael Keaton As Bruce Wayne Not Only In The Flash But HBO Max’s Batgirl As Well

we now have confirmation from James Gunn that the DCU Batman will be played by a new actor.

One of my oldest memories of my favorite superhero, Batman is when my dad and I watched Batman Returns. Since then the iconic role has been played by many other actors, some better than others. For me personally, my Batman will always be Michael Keaton, who starred in two films directed by Tim Burton. It’s hard to fathom that it has been 30 years since Keaton first donned the Batsuit.

So how exciting was it when we found out that Keaton would be back as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming DC/Warner Bros. Pictures film, The Flash. In which Ben Affleck would also be returning as Batman. Oh, and by the way, Robert Pattinson is also starring in his own Batman film. But who cares right? We love Batman.

But would Keaton’s appearance be a one-and-done in The Flash film? Yesterday we found out that the answer to that question is, NO. Along with that feature film, he will also appear as Batman a.k.a Bruce Wayne in HBO Max’s Batgirl feature film. Here he will star alongside Leslie Grace who is playing the lead role of Barbara Gordon. She is the daughter of Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon and Batgirl.

Keaton joins the growing cast of Batgirl that includes J.K. Simmons who is returning to play Jim Gordon after playing the role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. As well as HBO Max’s Doom Patrol’s Brendan Fraser who will play one of Batman’s classic rouges, Firefly.

Currently, we still don’t have any plot details about the film other than it centers around Batgirl. We also don’t have an exact release date. Only that it is scheduled for an HBO Max release sometime in 2022. Batgirl is currently in production in London and is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The screenplay was written by Christina Hodson.

What do you think of Michael Keaton’s addition to Batgirl? Let us know in the comment section below!

Warner Bros. Pictures The Flash is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 4th, 2022. HBO Max’s Batgirl is scheduled to be released on their streaming service sometime in 2022.
