Since he was cast as reprises his iconic role, fans have wondered what Michael Keaton’s new Batman costume would look like? We have seen some distance shots from the Batgirl shoot. However those were with a stunt person in the suit and that’s not always how things will look on film.

Moth Culture posted the images below and from what I can tell online, the buzz is that these are legit. So far WB has made no moves to remove these images that I can tell.

As you’d guess there are a lot of similarities to the suit Keaton wore in Batman Returns, pictured below. However there is perhaps a small modern influence in there? Less than I expected though. It looks like Keaton still won’t be able to turn his head. Then, perhaps that allows Keaton to move like he did in the original movies at the same time?

The only drastic difference I can see here is a black utility belt instead of the traditional golden color. Though I actually think this looks more like Val Kilmer’s version in Batman Forever. As posted by the source here though, this was for a costume test. That means there could be differences in the final product we see in movie theaters next year.

When all is said and done though, I loved this Batman costume, when I was a teenager. However My favorite’s as yet on screen are Christian Bale’s from The Dark Knight trilogy. I even liked his first suit more than most and that was an early version. I would now place Robert Pattinson’s suit as third in my list. Again, with the idea this is an early version and may be modified as that series goes forward.

However if Keaton’s suit had changed too dramatically it may upset the fan base and let’s face it, the nostalgia is what studios are chasing in this Hollywood era.
