The term social distancing is something that maybe in the past was used when we needed a break from society and people in general. Now of course with the state of this pandemic we are living through everyone recognizes it for what it really is. Staying home, avoiding crowds and refraining from touching each other. For some people this is easy as they are used to not socializing much and being home bodies. For others this may be challenge as they are used to be out and about experiencing all that a social life has to offer.

Then there are also those in the middle, that like to get to together with some friends and have a beer to talk about life and vent from time to time (to be honest this is where I find myself). One great example from an animated series are the neighborhood friends from King of the Hill. We know even from their opening sequence how important their gatherings are. They are made up of Hank Hill, Bill Dauterive, Boomhauer and Dale Gribble.
To poke some fun and awareness of the current situation we find ourselves in, the show’s creator Mike Judge shared an image of how this group of friends would handle social distancing. Their gathering is almost the same as before, all four in an alley with a beer in hand, but now the characters are spaced about six feet apart. You can check it out via Judge’s Twitter below!

King of the Hill was created by Judge and Greg Daniels. The series ran on FOX for thirteen season and featured 259 episodes. The first one aired on January 12th, 1997 and it’s final episode on May 6th, 2010. Judge also created other very popular television series like Bevis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley and The Goode Family.

Hopefully everyone out there is being safe and doing their best to keep the infected numbers low. Yes we want to make sure that we don’t get infected or infect anyone else. But does not mean we shouldn’t communicate with one another in some way. We live in a day and age where we can send text messages, facetime, DM’s and other forms of communication. That way we can show our friends and family that we are thinking about them. So let’s all by physically distant but not social.
