The Netflix original series, Mindhunter, has been renewed for a second season, Deadline reports.
For those who are unfamiliar, the dark psychological crime series stars Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, and follows a pair of FBI agents who are researching how the human psyche affects their tendency towards crime. Throughout the show, they check in with a convicted to discuss his own issues, in hopes of getting to the bottom of what makes a killer tick.

The show was well received by critics and fans, and while this announcement from Netflix makes the whole ordeal official, it is something the showrunners had seen coming, as they’d been preparing for another season since before it actually debuted on the streaming service.
This announcement comes months after Netflix CEO Reed Hastings expressed the streaming service’s need to become more selective with their renewals, pretty much saying they needed to take greater risks with the shows they let continue.
With that in mind, it’s great to see that they still know when to keep a great show running. They aren’t just blindly going off the wall their decisions.
