Minor Casting For The Marvels Revealed

In what I think is a rather loaded statement, Disney CEO Bob Iger blames lack of executive supervisions for The Marvels box office failure

A piece of minor casting for The Marvels has been revealed by casting site Mandy. Colin Stonely has been cast as a Kree scientist in the Captain Marvel sequel. One Take News previously published a rumor The Marvels was looking to cast this role, so it looks like they were right.

I very much doubt this is anything but a minor role. Mandy has Stonely playing a character called Papp-Tonn a Kree scientist. Rumors and common sense had the Kree as a strong component of the plot of The Marvels. Therefore this casting news comes as little surprise.

In the comics Papp-Tonn appeared in only one issue of Silver Surfer and was never seen again. A real deep cut, and just to be clear, this in no way hints at Surfer being involved in The Marvels. I mean, I guess he could be? However there have been zero rumors that link Surfer to this movie. Eventually we are sure to see Silver Surfer in the MCU, but for now, we still have no idea where and when?

The Marvels will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers once more. However Danvers will also hook up with Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) and Monica Rambeau (Spectrum, or Photon) for her sequel. Given the characters involved, and the hints of the Kree, I would guess (and hope) that The Marvels is more of a cosmic than Earth based movie, but we don’t know what for sure. The only other rumor I have heard about The Marvels is that Jude Law may show back up as his character Yonn-Rogg.

So a very obscure Kree scientist, that’s the minor casting for The Marvels in this story. Does anyone actually remember the character of Papp-Tonn from their comic adventures? Or, like me are you not aware if this guy whatsoever? As always, leave any thoughts below.
