Mission: Impossible 7 has been delayed again, according to Deadline. This is the direct result of Top Gun: Maverick being delayed, and also leads to another delayed release date for Mission: Impossible 8. Whew, that’s a mouthful.
As I fight through the tears to write this, it is important to know these delays have nothing to do with production woes. Top Gun: Maverick was set to come out July 2nd. Paramount has made the decision this is still too close to the pandemic, and thinks November 19 will be more profitable.

Paramount is in the Tom Cruise business. November 19 was previously home to M:I:7. So, by moving one Tom Cruise movie, the next was moved to Memorial Day weekend 2022. To be Specific, Mission: Impossible 7 is now set for May 27, 2022. This is the same weekend that saw the release of the 1996 original and 2000 sequel.
M:I:8 has movies from November 4, 2022 to July 7, 2023. This means, we’ll have the best of Tom Cruise for three years! Now, I just have to wait even longer for the next installment in my favorite franchise.
