Morbius Trailer Is Here! And It Comes With A Few Surprises

Well here it is folks, the trailer for Morbius starring Jared Leto as the Living Vampire  arrives, and more importantly it arrives with quite a few suprises.

The plot looks pretty straightforward and lines up with the comic book origins in a way. Here it looks as though Michael Morbius has an incurable blood disease and in his quest to solve the problem and with it save his own life, Morbius unleashes something upon himself, turning him into a Vampire of sorts.

I think what’ is more pertinent to this trailer, is how much this links in directly with the MCU. This certainly puts some weight behind the rumors that it would be set within the MCU recently. Not only do we have an image of Spider-Man with ‘murderer’ scrawled across it, we also have Michael Keaton showing up as Adrian Toomes, a clear link with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

So it looks like Sony’s fledgling VenomVerse is now just the MCU, or is it? Honestly at this point I’m in mourning that this version of Venom is the MCU one, I have zero faith in Sony not messing this up, and I’m not sure it’s worth it to have Spider-Man for two more MCU movies. Saying all that, this looks from the trailer to be a better movie than Venom, that doesn’t mean it actually is, it just looks more appealing to me from the trailers.

With Toomes involved, does this indicate Sony are building towards a Sinister Six movie, or is he just there to hammer the point home to casual fans that Sony are playing in the MCU now? Share your thoughts in the usual place below as always.
