More Than One Inquisitor Will Be In ‘Kenobi’ | Exclusive Barside Buzz

Rupert Friend Playing Grand Inquisitor In Obi-Wan Kenobi Rumor We're Backing Up | Barside Buzz

Since production began on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series we have heard rumors and speculation that an Inquisitor would be making an appearance.  We have now learned that there will be not one but MULTIPLE Inquisitors in the upcoming Star Wars series. Kenobi is billed to be the rematch of the century between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Inquisitors were first introduced in the Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic books, the animated Star Wars: Rebels tv-series, the Ahsoka novel, and had a pivotal role in the popular video game Jedi: Fallen Order.  With the Kenobi series taking place during the same timeline it really isn’t much of a surprise to see multiple inquisitors show up.  With the premise of the series as a rematch between Sith Lord Darth Vader versus Obi-Wan Kenobi, it would be expected for Lord Vader to use all of his resources to hunt down the old Jedi.

We already know the identify of one Inquisitor, and that’s Moses Ingram’s character. As for the others, we’ll get back to you on that one once we can.

The Inquisitors were tasked with hunting down the remaining Jedi who had survived Order 66 at the end of the Clone Wars and retrieving any children identified as Force-sensitive. The Inquisitors were governed by the Darth Vader and led by the Grand Inquisitor. The Sith warriors’ main task was Project Harvester, it was designed to identify younglings who would be Force-sensitive.  Those who were identified would be abducted and taken into custody to prevent the remaining Jedi from rebuilding the Order.

When we learned of the inclusion of the Inquisitors, we also learned the biggest challenge for production was creating a realistic Inquisitor lightsaber.  The Inquisitors carry a crimson double-bladed spinning lightsaber that is capable of spinning in a helicopter-like motion for escape due to their ringed emitters. We have been told that the model that has been created will shock fans when they see it in live-action.
