While MoviePass has been around for some time, it’s only been the past eight months or so that things have picked up for them. With their new $9.99/month plan, it’s really opened up the floodgates in terms of customers. However, as great as the service is, it ain’t perfect.

In order to pick up your tickets you need to be in range of the theater, and sadly, it does complicate things if you’re looking to pick up tickets from the whole family. As it stands, you’d all need your phones and to order your tickets separately. What a hassle, right?

Well, it looks like the service is on the way to remedy the situation, as Helios and Matheson Analytics CEO Ted Farnsworth revealed:

“We’ve been working on that one for awhile. So that’s a family plan, and it’s also the ‘bring-a-friend’ plan. … It would be the same [cost] that it is right now. We might do something down the road to get more of a discount for the family plan. … But it’s all the convenience of going with your family. You’ve got it all in one app, one card, one everything.”

So pretty much, they’re trying to make it easier for families to purchase tickets all at once, which could take out some of the headaches that come with theater-going. Sadly, as he stated, this is not a special family “deal” that gives audiences an even further discount, but rather just a way to make things easier for their customers.

All in all, it looks like this is just them iterating on their success, rather than anything super crazy — perhaps that deal will come later.
