The film stars Freida Pinto, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ashley Park, with Zawe Ashton and Theo James. Emma Holly Jones directed the film from the script written by Allain.

Here is the official synopsis:

When she fails to meet an item on his list of requirements for a bride, Julia Thistlewaite (Zawe Ashton) is jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù). Feeling humiliated and determined to exact revenge, she convinces her friend Selina Dalton (Freida Pinto) to play the role of his ideal match. Soon, Mr. Malcolm wonders whether he’s found the perfect woman…or the perfect hoax.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with Zawe Ashton and Theo James. We discussed the attraction to the romanticism of this period, Ashton’s vengeful character, costumes, and the mustache.

Zawe Ashton is best known for the comedy-dramas Fresh Meat and Not Safe for Work. She was in the Netflix horror movie films Velvet Buzzsaw and Dreams of a Life. Her upcoming project is playing the villain in next year’s The Marvels as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Theo James is best known for portraying Tobias “Four” Eaton in The Divergent Series film trilogy. Also, he starred in the werewolf/vampire films Underworld: Awakening and Underworld: Blood Wars. Other credits included the action film How It Ends, the science fiction film Archive, the television series Golden Boy and The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Mr. Malcom’s List is in theaters nationwide today.
