Ms. Marvel Casts Red Dagger

The MCU is pushing a good deal of new info. our way. Of course we love to see this since we have been through such a drought of speculation, rumors, and casting with the quarantine. Ms. Marvel is one of the shows making its way into the MCU through Disney+. Actress Iman Vellani was cast in the lead role back in September. Recently, Marvel released more casting news in the form of Aramis Knight taking on the role of Red Dagger.

Into The Badlands s3e3 M.K. – Project Fandom

While Vellani is a relatively new actress, Knight is not. Many will recognize him as MK from Into The Badlands on AMC. I am a fan of the casting of Vellani as the series looks to honor the diversity of the comics. The casting of Knight as Red Dagger aligns with this concept as well because his father’s side of the family is from Pakistan.

For those unfamiliar, the series will follow the adventures of 16-year-old Kamala Khan. The Pakistani-American takes quite the interest in superheroes, including Captain Marvel. She has issues with her school and home life but then she gains her superpowers such as shapeshifting, super healing and elasticity to name a few.

While visiting her family in Pakistan, Khan meets Kareem. He dons a costume and the moniker of Red Dagger, a vigilante without powers.
