Disney has released the Ms Marvel trailer, poster and release date of June 8th on Disney+. I’ll let you take a look at the trailer, and the poster plus all the official jumbo from the press release before I give any opinions on what you are about to see.
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.
Episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Bisha K. Ali are the executive producers. Co-executive producers for the series are Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, and Bisha K. Ali is the head writer.
Well, I have to say I liked that trailer more than I expected to. Maybe it was the music, or the way it was cut, but I like the style this show is going for. Those moments where we can see Kamala’s imagination are certainly unique.

Not to completely ignore the elephant in the room though, as we already knew Kamala has a different power set in the MCU. We see that Kamala seems to get her powers form her bangles and these give her energy based powers. Unless you’ve missed all the buzz and analysis of merchandise so far, then you probably know that. Some fans were dreading it. However, I have to say I think this looks cool and is in my opinion better than basic embiggening powers. Especially if Kamala is going to team up with Carol and Monica in The Marvels.
Still, this may not be everyone’s idea of a great show, I guess we shall see come June 8th? Now we have a release date, what do you think of the Ms Marvel trailer and poster? Thoughts below as always.
