Multiverse Trailer Explores the Parallel Universes in Sci-fi Thriller

Multiverse

Parallel universes talks are fun discussions in theory. In reality, it wouldn’t be a task to travel into another parallel universe to meet you. Bad things will certainly follow as in the indie sci-fi thriller Multiverse.

Here’s the official synopsis of Multiverse:

Colleagues Loretta, Danny, Amy, and Gerry are on the verge of an amazing breakthrough in quantum physics when tragedy strikes. Racing to complete the experiment, Loretta dies in a fiery car accident. Five months later, as the trio struggles to move on with their lives and the work they’d started, Loretta returns. She’s full of energy, enthusiasm, seemingly unaware she’s been gone for months. Are the friends losing their collective minds or has something remarkable happened? Soon, each of them comes face to face with their dead ringer. Professional rivalries and personal relationships surface and the friends realize only one version of them can exist in our reality. A violent correction is necessary to maintain order.

The cast includes Paloma Kwiakowski (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Riot Girls), Munro Chambers (Turbo Kid, Godsend), Robert Naylor (Immortals, Cyber Bully), Sandra Mae Frank (Soul to Keep, The Sound of Fear), and Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God, Picket Fences). Gaurav Seth (Prisoner X, A Passage to Ottawa) directed the movie from a script written by Doug Taylor (Splice, A Christmas Horror Story).

This is one of those films that can land on the cult film status if done correctly. Of course, it’s jumping on the bandwagon of a multitude of films that play with the multiverse and parallel universe theories. We’ll be seeing more of these types of film storylines in the recognizable comic book franchises from Marvel and DC.

For now, it’s science fiction and we’ll check Multiverse out of curiosity.

The film lands in theaters on November 12. It is followed On Demand and digital on November 16.
