My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 | Barry Peterson on Capturing the Beauty of Greece

The Portokalos family is traveling overseas to their homeland of Greece. With the scenic beaches, islands, villages, and structures, veteran cinematographer Barry Peterson needed to capture the beauty of its towns and countryside in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3.

In this next installment, the family is saying goodbye to the elderly patriarch of their family and yet uncovers a new family overseas.

The film stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Elena Kampouris, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone, and Louis Mandylor, with Lainie Kazan and Andrea Martin. Nia Vardalos directed and wrote the movie.

From writer and director Nia Vardalos, the worldwide phenomenon My Big Fat Greek Wedding is coming back to theaters with a brand-new adventure. Join the Portokalos family as they travel to a family reunion in Greece for a heartwarming and hilarious trip full of love, twists and turns. Opa!

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with director of photography Barry Peterson on capturing the spirit of Greece and the approach towards another wedding.

Barry Peterson was most recently the director of photography for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves for directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. In the past, he lensed Ben Falcone’s Thunder Force and Superintelligence, Susanna Fogel’s The Spy Who Dumped Me, and Goldstein and Daley’s Game Night. He has a long-standing collaborating relationship with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on projects such as 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, and The Lego Movie. Other credits included We’re the Millers, Jumper, and the pilot episodes of The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is currently playing nationwide in theaters.
