My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 | Grant Armstrong on the Village and Bringing Authenticity to Film

Although Greece has its natural beauty with its beaches, islands, countryside, and picturesque villages, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 added more Greek flavor to the environment to bring the comedy to the big screen.

The favorite Greek-American family returns to the screen in the next installment with My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. However, this time, they travel halfway around the world back to their home country for a bit of a getaway for themselves.

The film stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Elena Kampouris, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone, and Louis Mandylor, with Lainie Kazan and Andrea Martin. Nia Vardalos directed and wrote the story.

Here is the official synopsis:

From writer and director Nia Vardalos, the world phenomenon My Big Fat Greek Wedding is coming back to theaters with a brand new adventure. Join the Portokalos family as they travel to a family reunion in Greece for a heartwarming and hilarious trip full of love, twists and turns. Opa!

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with the production designer about the village locations, adjustments and decoration, and bringing Greece’s authenticity to the production.

Grant Armstrong has over three decades in production design and art direction, ranging from big budget blockbusters to independent films. Most recently, he was the production designer for Silent Night, starring Joel Kinnaman, and Last Seen Alive with Gerard Butler. His other credits in art direction included The Batman, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Overlord, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Victor Frankenstein, to name a few.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is currently playing nationwide in theaters.
