A new report from The Illuminerdi says Namor cast for Wakanda Forever! The Black Panther sequel has reportedly signed up Tenoch Huerta to play Namor. Not only that, but the outlet claims Marvel is casting other Atlanteans for the movie. Fandomwire had previously reported that Wakanda Forever would feature a conflict between Wakanda and Atlantis. If this is all true, then that scoop was also legit.
Tenoch Huerta who was in Narcos: Mexico was already reportedly playing a villain in the movie. However the outlet says they have since learned through sources that this antagonistic role is none other than Namor himself. Wakanda and Altantis have a comic history of battling with one another, and it seems that could be where this sequel goes in terms of the plot. Although he is part Human and part Atlantean, (just like Aquaman), Namor is a Mutant which gives him powers beyond normal Atlanteans. Namor is also traditionally hot and short tempered and is usually depicted as more of an anti-hero than a generic a member of the Avengers. The character also has a storied history with various other MCU characters such as the upcoming Fantastic Four as well as Doctor Strange.

There were also casting reports for two codenamed roles within Wakanda Forever. The outlet now says they know who these characters really are.
“We at The Illuminerdi can reveal that the two “Mayan warriors” that Black Panther 2 has been looking to cast are important characters in Namor and Atlantean lore. Zyanya is a codename for Namora, Namor’s cousin, while Cadmael is a codename for Attuma, an Atlantean warlord.”
A conflict between two hidden and powerful Nations has potential. However we all know this conflict cannot last forever. Somehow Atlantis has to learn to live alongside the surface dwellers for the MCU to carry forward. Reed Richards certainly helped with this in the comics, but how will it work in the MCU? I guess we shall have to wait and find out once Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theatres? Though, knowing the leak game like I do, I’ll bet we get more details before then to fill in gaps.
