Naomi | Camila Moreno On What Impact The Series Can Have [Exclusive Interview]

Naomi

Last week the television world was introduced to Naomi McDuffie. For DC Comics fans this was an exciting moment as her character was received by readers. She hasn’t been around for very long as her first appearance in Naomi #1 by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell, came in March of 2019 through the Wonder Comics imprint. Her character’s name is partially a tribute to comic book creator Dwayne McDuffie, who is very well known for his work and dedication to inclusion and diversity.

Portrayed by Kaci Walfall, we see in the first episode of Naomi that her life really begins to fall apart after Superman makes an unexpected appearance in their small town. This is significant as Naomi runs a Superman fan website. She looks up to him as she believes they both have similar origins. Soon after she begins to faint in a variety of situations, leading her to investigate as she feels that it’s no coincidence that she felt that way after the appearance. Is she connected with Superman?
