The past month or so has been a whirlwind of drama. Men left and right are getting called out for their predatory nature, and one of the men among them is none other than House of Cards star Kevin Spacey. Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp was the first to call out against him, but several other men have also spoken up about his inappropriate advances towards them, including some crew members of House of Cards.
Netflix was quick to say that Season 6 of House of Cards would be its last (though, that was apparently already a part of the plan), but they took the even further step of suspending production of the final season. Now, they’re taking that one step even further.
According to Variety, Kevin Spacey has been fully suspended from the series, and this is pretty much the first step they need to take towards firing him, for legal reasons. As such, it sounds an awful lot like Spacey’s tenure with Netflix has been terminated.
Another piece of news in favor of his being fired is Netflix’s announcement that they won’t move forward with “any version of House of Cards that includes Spacey,” and that their Gore Vidal biopic he was attached to has now been canceled.

There’s been talk about potentially killing off his character and moving forward with Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood, and there’s also been discussions regarding potential spinoffs in an attempt to save the series that put Netflix on the map.
