If you’re one of many people who picked up a Nintendo Switch in the past 10 months, while you may have been pleased on the gaming front, the actual system may have been a bit of a letdown in terms of features.

Unlike other systems out there, the Switch is pretty barebones in nature. Yes, there’s an eShop store (which is great), but there’s no web browser, no Netflix, no Hulu, and no online service of any kind. While this isn’t exactly a deal breaker, it doesn’t really too difficult of a thing to have streaming services available on a device like the Switch.

So could we expect to see Netflix on the device? Interestingly enough, when one Twitter user asked the question, Netflix’s services answered that there were currently no plans to bring the service to the Switch. Check out that original message below:

But this isn’t the end of the story. Not long after, that comment was deleted, and when Polygon reached out to the service, a Netflix representative said:

“We are still exploring the opportunity with Nintendo, but don’t have definitive plans to share at this time.”

All we can do is cross our fingers that Nintendo will do the right thing and engage with Netflix over making this a possibility. Again, while this isn’t a deal breaker (Nintendo has always been game-focused), it seems counterintuitive not to at least allow streaming on a device that seems handmade for that purpose.

What do you think? Do you want to see Netflix or other streaming services head to the Switch? Let us know down below!
