Netflix has announced a brand-new series from The Amazing Spider-Man‘s Marc Webb and Highland Park’s Chris Keyser. The pair will be looking to William Golding’s classic novel Lord of the Flies for its inspiration.
According to the streaming service, the new show will follow a group of wealthy teens who are “transported” to an exact copy of their town. In order to survive, they will need to do the adult thing and establish order and work together. Of course, as we all will know based on the source material, there is plenty of room for all this to go wrong.
Below is the official logline for the series:
“The series follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town, left without any trace of their parents. As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive. The series is a modern take on Lord of the Flies.”
Joining the project is Big Little Lies and Blockers actress Kathryn Newton.
