I still think it’s a bit weird that Netflix is getting into the business of comics, but here we go, anyways. Several months back, the streaming giant penned a deal with comic book writer Mark Millar’s comic book company, MillarWorld. They pretty much absorbed the company and would be producing original content, including TV series, films, and comics.

Now, the first comic to be published under that 2017 acquisition is set to be released soon, and Netflix has published a new trailer for it. The comic in question is called The Magic Order, and as one would expect from the title, it has wizards and magic to go around.

Based on the trailer, it looks as though these wizards live under the radar, protecting humanity. But it looks as though someone is starting to pick off these wizards, and so continues a whole chain of action-packed goodness — or so we hope!

As I mentioned above, it is a bit confusing to have Netflix producing these comics, and given the trailer, I can imagine some folks hoping to just watch this on the streaming site in motion comic form. However, by the end of the trailer, it’s very clear this will be a comic book deal, and given its financial backing, I’m curious to see how it fares for the streaming service.

What did you think of this trailer? Let us know your thoughts down below!

The Magic Order hits comic shops on June 13, 2018.
