According to Variety streaming giant Netflix will test a channel to their subscribers in France. The channel will feature curated content such as American films and TV shows as well as international content. The aim is to help those indecisive viewers find what to watch by choosing it for them.
A word from Netflix can be found below.
“Whether you are lacking inspiration or whether you are discovering Netflix for the first time, you could let yourself be guided for the first time without having to choose a particular title and let yourself be surprised by the diversity of Netflix’s library.”

I can get on board with this as a ‘sometimes’ option, but for me, it would be more to have the TV on as background noise while I work on something else, as opposed to being interested in the content. However, when I worked at Hollywood Video, I did enjoy picking out a DVD to rent and not know what I rented until I got home and seen the DVD menu pop up. I discovered some really good films this way I might never have watched.
So then it’s happened. We’ve come full circle. I remember a time long ago when only being able to watch what was provided for us seemed very limiting. Then HDR made their way into our lives, and e could at least control the time we watched content. When the streaming services arrived we were given almost full control, with the ability to watch almost anything we want, when we want to watch it. And now it seems like the choice to choose is too much of a burden. Funny how that works.
