Netflix has given us a rare glimpse into its streaming numbers. The streaming giant very rarely ever gives any hard data and how well its original content does. Netflix just released how well its original movie content with a top 10 Netflix original movies along with the streaming numbers each movie had in its first 4 weeks. The data shows that Netflix has a strong original lineup with some pretty big movie stars. Since its inception Netflix has revolutionized the media industry and become a household name around the world. The list of Netflix’s top 10 original movies along with its initial 4 week numbers is below.

- Bird Box (89 m)
- Spenser Confidential (85 m)
- 6 Underground (83 m)
- Murder Mystery (73 m)
- The Irishman (64 m)
- Triple Frontier (63 m)
- The Wrong Missy (59 m)
- The Platform (56 m)
- The Perfect Date (48 m)
As you can see Netflix’s top 10 movies range from action, comedy, suspense, and drama. While it is a little bit of a surprise that Extraction came in at the top spot the real surprise for me was seeing The Irishman only coming in sixth. With so much hype around the Martin Scorsese film and the big push at the Academy Awards I would have thought it would’ve been higher on Netflix’s list.

It will be interesting to see how some of the newer releases coming out fare against these movies. Although numbers haven’t been released buzz around Charlize Theron’s new movie The Old Guard which just released is doing good. Ever since the streaming wars began Netflix has made sure that it has new original content releasing weekly on its platform. This is something that has made the company stay competitive as other companies have taken away content like Marvel, Star Wars, and The Office in 2021. Looks like no matter what is thrown at Netflix they always have a way to bounce back.
