Netflix’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events Adds Nathan Fillion

The first book of the popular series, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning, hit the shelves in September of 1999. Five years later, Paramount Pictures released the film A Series of Unfortunate Events. This film starred Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken, Emily Browning, Kara/Shelby Hoffman and Jude Law. Fast forward to 2017 when Netflix released the series starring Neil Patrick Harris as the vile Count Olaf, Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire, Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire and Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire. The show did well enough to be renewed for a second season.

With that news, we knew that new actors/actresses would be added to the show. Thanks to The Wrap, we know that the latest star to join the show is Nathan Fillion.  He is set to play Lemony Snicket’s brother. Along with Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue, Lucy Punch and Roger Bart have also joined the cast for Season 2. Netflix is presumed to announce additional cast members at Netflix FYSee space this Friday night. Nathan Fillion had been working on ABC’s Castle‘s 8 season run. For now, there is no timeline for when the second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events will be released.

The very unique book series that was turned into a film, and now turned into a television show, follows the story of three siblings: Violet, Klaus and Sunny. Their parents went missing in a mysterious fire and have to deal with the vile Count Olaf who is after their fortune that they will inherit when they become of age.

I had really enjoyed the film, mainly because I thought Jim Carrey did a great job at playing Count Olaf. When this television series was announced, I had my doubt about Neil Patrick Harris, but he also did a fantastic job as Count Olaf. Now since it is a successful Netflix series, we will get a second season and adding a well known actor/voice actor like Fillion. It will be interesting to see how much screen time he will get, but I look forward to seeing him on the show. Do you like the addition of Nathan Fillion to A Series of Unfortunate Events?
