Netflix’s Fear Street Part 2: 1978 Trailer Brings Back Slasher Killer at Summer Camp

Fear Street Part 2: 1978 with Sadie Sink and Emily Rudd

The 1980s produced some of the best summer camp horror movies such as The Burning, Cheerleader Camp, Sleepaway Camp, and Friday the 13th. These films etched into horror history as there is no safe place on campgrounds with a killer on the loose. With Netflix’s next film in its horror anthology Fear Street Part 2: 1978, the film brings the traditional slash and hack killer to a bunch of unexpecting teenagers at a summer camp.

Here’s the official synopsis of Fear Street Part 2: 1978:

Shadyside, 1978, school’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.

The cast for this second installment includes Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins, and McCabe Slye.

With Fear Street Part 1: 1994 already streaming on Netflix, horror enthusiasts eagerly wait on the next installment that ties three films together in a story arch about a witch and a curse on the town of Shadyside. The premise of the story is based on R.L. Stine’s book series titled Fear Street, which is quite a departure than his children series of Goosebumps.

After viewing the first film, there are plenty of elements of your favorite horror films of the 70s, 80s, and 90s into the trilogy. Not to mention, a few links to Netflix’s Stranger Things with Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke with certain particular roles in the trilogy.

Fear Street Part 2: 1978 is available on Netflix beginning this Friday, July 9. The following Friday after that will be the release of the final film Fear Street Part 3: 1666.
