Directly inverse to one of the primary complaints about Marvel’s big screen efforts- namely that most of the villains are weak sauce- is the fact that the baddies in their Netflix shows have been pretty awesome. Most people loved Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in DAREDEVIL, and few can argue that David Tennant”s Kilgrave wasn’t thrilling to watch on JESSICA JONES. According to Marvel’s Joe Quesada, their plans for IRON FIST include beefing up the rogue factor.

In a chat with IGN, Quesada revealed that IRON FIST– which, if you haven’t seen the teaser for yet you absolutely should– may very well have the largest collection of rogues we’ve yet to see on these highly-regarded Marvel/Netflix shows.

“I would say that Iron Fist has probably more villains in our first season than any of our other shows.”

So it sounds like Marvel intends to up the ante for Iron Fist (Finn Jones) when his standalone series debuts on Netflix next year.

What do you think of this revelation?
