Netflix’s Lost In Space Trailer Announces Release Date

Way back in the ’60s, CBS aired the science fiction TV series, Lost in Space. The show was a futuristic re-telling of the novel Swiss Family Robinson, and even featured a family with the last name Robinson.

While the series only lasted a few seasons, it did have a decent cultural impact, spinning off into comics, a cartoon series, a novel, and of course, a feature film, starring Gary Oldman, William Hurt, Heather Graham, and Matt LeBlanc. Sadly, very little of that content was good, and the franchise has never managed to recover since then.

However, if there is one network I can see being successful in bringing it to the forefront again, it’s Netflix. Now, in a new teaser for the show, we see that we’re only a couple short months away from seeing this become a reality. While the teaser doesn’t show a whole lot, it’s enough to even get someone like me (who is only lukewarm on the franchise, if you couldn’t tell) interested to see what comes next.

Below is the official synopsis to Lost in Space:

“The Robinson family, part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space, is unexpectedly pulled off course forcing them to crash land on a lost planet.”

Lost in Space hits Netflix on April 13, 2018.
