Since its formation in 2019, the United States Space Force has been the butt of jokes in the military, social media, and around the world. Despite the humorous outlook, the streaming series Space Force is still going strong as it enters its second season this Friday.

The entire cast returns for the second season that including Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, and Don Lake. The recurring guest cast members include Lis Kudrow and Tim Meadows for season two.

Here is the logline:

Season 2 of Space Force picks up with General Naird and his underdog team having to prove their worth to a new administration while dealing with interpersonal challenges. Will the group come together or fall apart under the pressure? Space Force is only human after all.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with most of the cast that included Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, and Jimmy O. Yang. We talked about their characters for season two, chemistry, story arcs, and Yang’s writing one episode in the series.

Ben Schwartz is best known for playing Jean-Ralphio in the comedy television series Parks and Recreation. His other credits included House of Lies as Clyde Oberholt, Modern Family as Nick, BoJack Horseman as Rutabaga Rabitowitz, Bob’s Burgers as Josh/Rick, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K as Lou Tarleton, Crossing Swords as Keefer, and currently in Apple TV+’s The Afterparty as Yasper. He also voiced the title character of Sonic the Hedgehog and its upcoming sequel.

Tawny Newsome voiced Ensign Beckett Mariner in Star Trek: Lower Decks and had recurring roles in Brockmire and Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. Also, she appeared in NBC’s Superstore, IFC’s Sherman’s Showcase, and NBC’s Perfect Harmony.

Diana Silvers first appeared in Hulu’s Into the Dark series with Flesh & Blood and a noticeable role in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass. She appeared in supporting roles in the horror film Ma and the comedy Booksmart. Last year, she was the lead in the ballet drama Birds of Paradise.

Jimmy O. Yang is a stand-up comedian, who made his mark as Jian-Yang on HBO’s Silicon Valley. He appeared in the film Crazy Rich Asians as Bernard Tai and as real-life hero Dun Meng in the film Patriots Day.

Space Force season two streams this Friday, February 18, on Netflix.
