Netflix’s Ted Bundy Movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile Gets A Trailer

Ted Bundy was a real enigma to many Americans back in his heyday. It was a time where there was little knowledge about the psychology of serial killers, and in the eyes of many, his charisma and good looks were at odds with his alleged crimes. Of course, nowadays, we know the truth — and we have a pretty amazing-looking film to help chronicle the whole ordeal in an entertaining fashion.

If you’ll recall, the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile had its world premiere this past January at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was promptly purchased by Netflix for a hefty $9 million sum. The film comes from documentarian Joseph Berlinger, who also created the Ted Bundy-focused Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, so you really couldn’t find a better person to take on the task, right?

All in all, I do love the dark aesthetic and creepy undertone in the trailer. In some ways, it looks in line with what I’d expect from a director like David Fincher. What comes across very well in this trailer is just how responsible Bundy is for his girlfriend’s seeming descent into madness, where the rest of the world laughs at his charm and wit, and she can only look on in horror, fully knowing how he works.
