We know that the way that we watch series and films is evolving before our eyes. Now entering a new decade we will see a fierce competition of various streaming services looking to convince you that their content is worth subscribing for monthly. We already have services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, DC Universe and Apple TV+. This year we will also see the addition of NBC’s peacock streaming service as well as Warner Media’s HBO Max.

With so many different services popping up it could be easy to think that the quantity and quality of content could suffer on each streaming platform. Netflix released a “Top 10 Most Popular Series Releases of 2019” list that sort of flexes and shows that although they may have taken a hit from other services, they are still the leading streaming service entertainment.

Even though it was released late in the year, The Witcher has done extremely well. So well in fact that according to the data company Parrot Analytics via Business Insider, The Witcher is the most in-demand television series in the world across all platforms, even passing the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian during the week of December 22nd through the 28th. One reason this is impressive is because Disney+’s The Mandalorian had just finished dethroning Netflix’s Stranger Things, which is number one on the list, as the most in demand streaming service the month before.

Although I have seen many of the series on this list, I still have a few to go. While I catch up on some of these, Netflix will no doubt be rolling out new seasons of series like 13 Reasons Why, The Umbrella Academy, Narcos and more. Meaning that I will not be getting cancelling my Netflix account anytime soon.
