Aladdin is now out in theaters (I have my tickets for tomorrow morning), and while it looks to be a fun spectacle, we know that half of the fun of these movies are the songs. It’s part of what made the original animated classic so memorable, and like Beauty and the Beast before it, not only will they be remaking the movie, but they will be adding their own songs to the current slate of classics.

In the latest featurette for the film, we get to see Disney legend Alan Menken speak with legends-in-the-making Justin Paul and Benji Pasek (known for their work on La La Land and The Greatest Showman) and what they brought to the table.

In addition to reworking the classic songs for a new generation, they also speak to the new original song for Princess Jasmine song, “Speechless,” which chronicles the personal struggle and journey in the film, which wasn’t played up as much in the original story, but hinted at.

“I think it’s unique to our collaboration,” Menken says in the video. “It brings the strengths of all of us together.”
