Along with the new brand-new Doctor, Doctor Who fans will also be getting a brand-new logo. The reveal came in the form of a new video. The clip showed the TARDIS darting through the cosmos, and then the trails left by the TARDIS make up the horizontal line in the H.

Interestingly enough, the line also goes through the O and the D. It gives the rather simplistic logo an extra flair, plus it goes well with the motif of time travel. With the trail ending at the O and continuing with the D, it’s almost as if the TARDIS has gone back in time within the logo itself, which damn cool.

In addition to the full logo, there’s also a special “insignia” that can be used for branding. Once again, it capitalizes on the simplistic nature of the new logo, and makes for a snazzy emblem.

Doctor Who has made great strides in its logo design during its run. I personally think that it’s 2000s rebranding with the first revival series was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen, and while I enjoyed the most recent logo that began with Matt Smith’s reign, I think the simplicity in this one is hard to beat.
