New Joker Set Video Shows Arthur Fleck Bowing To A Crowd

Since filming began on Todd Philips Joker. we have actually seen quite a lot of footage of Joaquin Phoenix in the dual role of Arthur Fleck/Joker already. His look as the Joker has certainly caught peoples attention, but this latest set video courtesy of user Mikhail Villarreal on Twitter instead shows more of Phoenix in his pre-Joker look.

Check out the video below.

As you can see it appears that Arthur Fleck is performing a little bow to the crowd in what appears to be a circus or a clown show of some kind, based on the placards being held up by the crowd. Instead of the attention being on the stage however, it seems like the crowd are focused on Fleck. Has he just taken a tumble and everyone is laughing at him? Possibly, could be many other reasons as well, because we do not see what comes immediately before the video.

One of the key points we here at LRM have taken from the set videos so far, is that the look of Arthur Fleck seems to be the same in every video or photo, until he becomes Joker. Is it possible that Phillips is using The Killing Joke as a jump off point for Joker, and we are going to witness one bad day in the life of Arthur Fleck that sends him over the edge? We certainly think it’s a strong possibility given what we have seen so far.

I do like the look of this movie so far, but I still have my doubts about how well this works without Batman or being connected to Matt Reeves upcoming The Batman. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

What do you think of the latest Joker set video and what do you think of our one bad day theory? Join in the speculation in the usual place below.
