Universal keeps showing us good Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom material, only to follow it up with something stupid.
I very much want to enjoy Fallen Kingdom, yet once the Super Bowl TV trailer came out I could finally admit the first teaser trailer was cheesy. But, that new trailer was so good! So creepy and scary in a way Jurassic Park has not been in a long time. I am surprised that trailer was never released in theaters.
But, this theory should mean today’s trailer should be pretty special (this was written in the not-so-distant past… “oOOOooo”), as yesterday’s poster was a downer. Check it out below:

Yep. Just a shot from the film, but one of the cheesiest shots we’ve seen in the trailers, prior to today’s.
Now, they can’t all just use a variation of a the classic logo like the first Jurassic Park teaser poster all the way through the Jurassic World teaser poster and again on the teaser for Fallen Kingdom. All the same, I expected this poster to be more ominous like the following poster for Jurassic World…
… And less ridiculous than this other final poster for the previous film:
A bad poster does not at all a bad movie make. But, I am tired and a little flabbergasted they continue to have the T-Rex save humans so many times, in nearly the exact same pose.

I look forward to the second half of the film, off the island — at the time of writing this, that is what I assume the trajectory of the film is — at whatever facility InGen’s new owner houses the evacuated dinos and the scary, new Indoraptor. That’s the Jurassic Park film I hope to see!
