There is no doubt that DC Comics has been experiencing a resurgence with fans recently. The Absolute line of books has been consistently selling out, bringing new and lapsed readers into the fold alongside longtime fans who never left. What those faithful readers have always known — and what newer fans are now discovering — is that one of the key reasons DC has stood out from its competition is the incredible artists who have defined its comics over the past decade.

No publisher in the last ten years has matched DC’s consistency when it comes to high-level artistic talent. One of the artists whose profile rose tremendously during that time is Bruno Redondo. His critically acclaimed Nightwing run with writer Tom Taylor, which began with 2021’s Nightwing #78, earned multiple Eisner Awards and helped cement Redondo as a household name among comics fans.

However, Redondo’s work at DC began long before Nightwing. Now, through Clover Press’s Kickstarter campaign, fans who may have missed some of the Spanish artist’s earlier DC work have the opportunity to experience it in a stunning new collection. The campaign even includes an exclusive Nightwing #87 – Wingspan Edition cover and slipcase featured in this gorgeous art book.

Clover Press today announced THE DC ART OF BRUNO REDONDO, the second volume in the The DC Art Of… books, the recent line of high-end boutique art books showcasing the very best artists to craft the DC multiverse. Three-time Eisner Award-winning artist Bruno Redondo has built a world-class career perfecting his art for DC’s comics in the 21st century, and now, THE DC ART OF BRUNO REDONDO collects his very best work from the first era of an already impressive career. With over 200 pages, the 9”x12” volume highlights Redondo’s defining runs on Injustice and Nightwing, as well special selections from Justice LeagueBatman: Black & WhiteHarley Quinn: Black, White & Red; and much more. Head to Kickstarter to join the campaign!

“I have always been an avid fan of art books from the artists I admire,” said Redondo. “I consider them a great chance to learn and look behind the curtain of their creative process. So having the opportunity to share my own art book is quite a responsibility. I’m trying to be as open as possible to it and build a new bridge of communication through this, as a complement to my comic books. I hope you enjoy it, as well as some of the surprises we are working on!”

After making a name for himself on titles like Human Target (with Len Wein), Push, and Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Bruno Redondo joined his Star Wars: Darth Maul collaborator Tom Taylor (DCeasedAll-New Wolverine) to take the reins of Injustice: Gods Among Us, elevating a digital-first video game tie-in comic to a fan-favorite series with a fiercely devoted readership. The scope and tenure of the story also provided the perfect testing ground for Bruno to experiment with and hone his signature style of fluid, unencumbered pencil work combined with a precision sense of design. After Injustice’s conclusion, Bruno lent his name to other high-profile DC series, including Justice League (with Scott Snyder), Titans (with Dan Abnett), and Suicide Squad (again with Tom Taylor). Beginning with Nightwing #78, Bruno and Tom Taylor began what quickly became one of the seminal runs on comics’ first sidekick, Dick Grayson. Their take on the former Boy Wonder was refreshingly bright for a bat book, in both narrative tone and visual style, and put Dick in the comics spotlight for the first time in years. The unique kinetic language and attention to detail that Bruno brought to the character helped the series top itself month after month and, ultimately, earn Eisner Awards for Best Continuing Series and Best Single Issue. Bruno would also take home the Eisner for Best Cover Artist.

THE DC ART OF BRUNO REDONDO will feature a collection of Bruno’s extensive work with DC, as well as an introduction by Bruno’s frequent creative partner, #1 New York Times-bestselling writer Tom Taylor. The campaign will also feature extras, including rarely-seen sketches and commissions, Redondo’s Nightwing covers, a fold-out edition of the iconic Nightwing #87, a sticker pack, a poster pack, and more, available in Clover Press’ traditional options of hardcover, dust jacket, slipcase, and signed slipcase editions.

“I’ve known Bruno since his days on Injustice, and knew he had an amazing career ahead of him,” said Clover Press Publisher Hank Kanalz. “I’m so proud of the extent to which he has risen, including multiple Eisners and being on the top of many writers’ request lists. And I think he’s just getting started!”
