Netflix and Marvel’s latest series, The Punisher, may have hit the streaming service a couple weeks back, but as we know, Netflix is mostly interested in creating longevity for their series. As such, marketing continues, even this late in the game.

The latest bit of marketing comes in the form of a brand new featurette. In it, we get to see the magic behind the new violent series. We were first introduced to the character in Daredevil, and while we may have thought the conspiracy ended in that season, it turns out it goes a whole lot deeper than that.

In the new featurette, they discuss that very idea, as well as the idea that Frank’s life in the military may very well be the reason why his family suffered the fate they did. We also delve into the character of Micro, who has his own set of tragic circumstances that bring him and Frank Castle together.

Of course, these aren’t the only important characters in the season, and this featurette takes time to show audiences just what each of the characters’ goals is in reference to Frank.

“After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.”
