New Report Says Boba Fett Show Could Be Made Sooner Than We Thought

If you remember LRM broke the story that a Boba Fett show was coming to Disney+? It was one of several spin-off shows that our source told us would be shooting off from The Mandalorian. Last week on Chapter 9 of The Mandalorian Boba Fett came back, albeit briefly. I have watched Chapter 10 already today, and I was way out with my predictions, but I won’t get into that here. However this morning, I did wake up to a new report from Deadline about the Boba Fett show. The trade ran a story saying they have heard there is a possibility that the Boba Fett show could begin shooting within the next few weeks. Wow!

Previously John Favreau had said that The Mandalorian Season 3 would begin filming this year. Deadline has heard whilst that is true, there is also a chance that Boba Fett could begin even earlier. Now, what Deadline say is that could take the form of a mini-series. That would mean it’s possibly the same thing as our source told us about, or some kind of precursor to that? I would guess the former but that is just a guess. You can find our original exclusive story below.

When our source gave us the initial information we were given no kind of timelines for any of the shows. I’m guessing that was information that was either still fluid, or they were simply not prepared to give us it at the time. I am therefore extremely surprised by how quickly this could actually happen. I do trust Deadline‘s sources, however there is one point they made I think I’m going to have to query at least.

No Cara/Bo Katan Show?

Deadline has said that the Cara Dune and Bo Katan Kryze show (initially broken by LRM, then KRT added on Bo Katan) is not happening. Here’s the thing, trades are generally told what someone at the studio wants them to know. Earlier rumors whilst always less accurate are also less likely to be passed to trades. Remember that our source told us about Boba Fett first, long before any of the trades had heard he was coming. Secondly, our source told us about spin-off shows coming for Ahsoka Tano (also backed up by trades), and Ezra Bridger. Now the Ezra show has not been confirmed by trades, but other insiders have backed up that claim. Then, we had the same source tell us about the Cara Dune spin-off, which was then backed by KRT who added on Bo Katan.

However, it is also possible that this show has since been scrapped. That does happen and we will reach out to our source to check for any updates. Obviously whatever we hear back we will share. So I’m not saying Deadline are wrong. I am saying that a Cara Dune and Bo Katan spin-off was at least planned at some point. However, things could have changed in the last month and LRM will make inquiries to that effect. It does look like a Boba Fett show is coming though, and maybe soon. Just remember who broke that story initially folks and watch for any future Star Wars scoops from LRM.
