Marvel Comics’ Spiderverse is a very crowded place with a variety of characters taking on the “Spider” name each with their own unique personalities. One of these characters is Jessica Drew also known as Spider-Woman. Her character made her first appearance in the pages of Marvel Comics in Marvel Spotlight #32 in 1977. She was created by Archie Goodwin, Sal Buscema and Jim Mooney. Her back story is that she was given super powers by HYDRA, who she worked for at first as an assassin. But she later switched sides and became a member of SHIELD. Since then she has been featured in many comics books and even an animated series.
Next spring, she will be returning to the pages of Marvel comic books in her own new series titled Spider-Woman #1. The creative team for this series is led by Karla Pacheco and Pere Perez. Here is the what we can expect from the series according to Marvel Entertainment:

Pacheco commented about her excitement to work on this title, “I love Spider-Woman, and I’m incredibly excited to share this series with both new and old Jessica Drew fans alike. This is big, can’t miss, over-the-top action, some very surprising ‘venom blasts from the pasts,’ and also a TON of helicopter explosions,” Pacheco says. “It’s a super fun adventure with a lot of twists and turns…and seriously, so many helicopter explosions. We’re taking Jess bigger and badder than she’s ever been before, and I can’t wait for readers to see what we’ve cooked up.”
