Well, what can we say about the trailer for She-Ra? Not a lot of good things if I am honest, this looks so bad to me personally, but then I guess I am not really the target audience here. She-Ra was first out when I was just a young lad, and as a huge fan of He-Man, I was intrigued to see what She-Ra would bring, unfortunately as a young boy, it was not really up my street. I do recall calling my pet Tarantula She-Ra years later, but now I can’t think why when I rarely watched the show.
The idea was a simple one, He-Man is successful amongst boys and we sell a ton of toys, can we replicate that with a female hero and sell just as many toys to girls. The answer was a resounding no and yet, they keep trying. This incarnation of She-Ra will be its third and it looks like the most childish effort of the three.

What I mean is the animation style seems to fit more with something like Nella the Princess Knight than the more action-packed and older themed previous She-Ra shows. And if you are wondering how an uber-geek like me knows about Nella the Princess Knight, well that’s down to my 4-year-old daughter.
Would my daughter be interested in a show like She-Ra? Possibly, but for how long would this work for her? They do seem to have aimed for a young target audience. Therefore, this show would be competing with the likes of PJ Masks and other such pre-school shows. Will that finally prove to make She-Ra a success finally for the first time? Time will tell on that front, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it from the looks of this trailer. It’s certainly not going to appeal to the adult fans out there that hold the original show in high regard.
What do you think of She-Ra, do you think it looks as bad as I do? Sound off in the usual place below.
