Check out the reveal trailer for Xbox next-generation console below. We have known for some time that both the new Xbox and the PS5 would be coming at the latter end of 2020. Initially, Microsoft was aiming for Fall 2020, but as you can see from the reveal trailer above, they are now saying Holidays 2020, which would out things closer to a year from now possibly.
We have no official date nor even as much of a hint as Xbox for the PS5, but expect them to hit stores around the same time. We also have no idea of price point yet, and it’s these won’t be cheap as they should all come with SSD drives as standard. Chances are both Sony and Microsoft will be taking a hit financially on these launch models as well to try and keep the price point as low as they can to attract consumers.

The Xbox we now know will have the imaginative name of being called the Series X. It does make you realize that perhaps Sony took the simple option by just going up one number every time. Do I like the Series X name? Hell no. But who really cares for the name anyway? As for the look, well you can pretty much guarantee that the PS5 will look cooler, because the Sony consoles always do. The Series X looks just like a smaller desktop PC, probably because these consoles really are just curated desktop PCs now anyway. One assumes it can go on its side also and therefore fit under everyone’s TV.
Honestly, it could look like a banana for all I care really. I will be getting the Series X on launch, probably two of them as my son plays Xbox also. I’d better start saving for next Xmas now.
What are your thoughts on the Xbox Series X? Leave them below in the usual place.
