While Nintendo has been having one hell of a year with the Switch, a lot of gamers were pretty underwhelmed by the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, which consisted almost wholly of ports from other systems.
Since that Direct hit, there have been rumors of perhaps another big Direct coming within the next couple weeks. However, we may be getting even more news soon, and it may not even come in the form of a direct.
According to Eurogamer, Nintendo is prepping an announcement at 10pm UK time (5pm ET, 2pm PT). While it’s not clear what this announcement will entail, it sounds like it’ll be more than just a typical game announcement. This announcement will bring a “new interactive experience, specially crafted for kids and those who are kids at heart.”

So what does this mean? Recently, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima made a statement regarding the company’s year-two goals, and among them, he said, “Our task is to add more users, including people who barely touch game consoles.”
Given that this announcement is set to reveal a “new interactive experience,” we can’t help but wonder if this will be in favor of appealing more to mainstream gamers. In short, if you were hoping for a reveal of some hardcore games, this may not be the announcement for.
But, of course, we only have a handful more hours to wait, so it won’t be long before we know what they have up their sleeves. What do you want to see from Nintendo with this announcement? Let us know down below!
